‘Judicial servant, I order you…’: Litigant Throws Papers, Hurls Abuses During SC Hearing

Incident During Supreme Court Session

Theindiapostdaily.com – On Friday, a litigant disrupted a Supreme Court hearing by addressing the bench with an authoritative tone, declaring, “Mr judicial servant. I order you…” This outburst followed allegations that he had hurled abuses and thrown his legal documents into the air.

“Mr judicial servant. I order you to order the registration of an FIR against the ACP Lucknow,” the litigant, who wore a black coat without a lawyer’s band, stated as he confronted the justices.

The litigant’s confrontational behavior surprised the court. Justice K V Viswanathan responded with visible astonishment, asking, “You are ordering me? You are ordering us?”

After the litigant claimed, “That is all from my side. Everything is on record,” he hurled an unparliamentary abuse and allegedly tossed his case papers into the air. Security personnel swiftly intervened, overpowering him and removing him from the courtroom to ensure proceedings continued uninterrupted.

No immediate ruling on the incident was issued in open court. The bench, composed of justices K V Viswanathan and Alok Aradhe, remained composed and proceeded with the remaining cases on the agenda.

“Considering the condition of the petitioner above-named, and does not propose to take any action against him,” the Court remarked. “As far as the merit of this case is concerned, we have perused the records, we find no good ground to interfere with the impugned judgment/order(s).”

Previous Incident in October 2025

Earlier in October 2025, a similar disruption occurred when an advocate attempted to remove his shoe and throw it at former Chief Justice BR Gavai during a court session. The advocate was quickly escorted out by security.

“You are ordering me? You are ordering us?” asked Justice Viswanathan, visibly taken aback.

The Bar Council of India suspended the lawyer’s license, and the Supreme Court Bar Association revoked his membership. LiveLaw later noted that Chief Justice Gavai had advocated for leniency, insisting no action should be taken against the accused advocate.
