New Developments in India-Pakistan Relations Over PoJK Situation

Theindiapostdaily.com – India has strongly criticized Pakistan following recent events in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting a significant shift in the dynamics of the region. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, delivered these comments on Friday, drawing attention to a remarkable development involving groups that Pakistan once utilized for its strategic purposes.

Mujahideen Groups Turn Inward

According to statements made by the MEA, Pakistan’s Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Sanaullah, publicly recognized that Mujahideen organizations—previously supported by Pakistan’s establishment—have now begun challenging the Pakistani state from within. These groups had earlier received training, financial support, weapons, and were dispatched to India as part of Pakistan’s strategy.

“The Special Assistant of the Prime Minister [of Pakistan] on Political Affairs has openly admitted that the very Mujahideen that the Pakistani establishment trained, funded, armed, and sent to India have turned their guns inwards, weaponising themselves against the state,” the MEA spokesperson remarked, according to ANI.

Sanaullah’s acknowledgment came during an earlier interview with Geo News, where he conceded that the current protesters in PoJK were indeed the same individuals who had been trained as Mujahideen fighters and sent abroad, but who have now emerged as a domestic problem for Pakistan.

Crackdown in PoJK Sparks Outrage

India’s strong reaction followed reports indicating that more than forty individuals lost their lives while numerous others sustained injuries during recent demonstrations against the government in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Jaiswal emphasized that Pakistan’s handling of peaceful demonstrators revealed the true nature of Islamabad’s relationship with the local population.

“As you and all of us have witnessed, the Pakistani establishment continues to unleash ruthless force against peaceful civilians in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. This crackdown has resulted in the tragic death of over 40 innocent people, and many more have been seriously injured. It’s the establishment’s absolute disdain for the innocent people of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir that was laid bare when their Defence Minister branded the protesting civilians as enemies,” Jaiswal stated.

Elections and International Response

The MEA spokesperson also addressed what he termed “so-called elections” in the region, suggesting these polls demonstrated the local population’s rejection of Pakistani authority. He noted that those affected by the crackdown had called for an independent international investigation into the violence that occurred.

“The so-called elections stand as a humiliating rejection of the Pakistan establishment. Facing a violent regime, the people have requested international organisations for an independent investigation into the unlawful killings. We urged that the international community should scrutinise Pakistan’s actions and hold it accountable for its atrocities,” he mentioned.

These protests have been widespread across PoJK, with demonstrators raising concerns about extensive electoral irregularities, political meddling, and the systematic restriction of democratic freedoms.

UKPNP Calls for Urgent Intervention

The United Kashmir People’s National Party (UKPNP) has joined India’s position by appealing to the United Nations and the broader international community to take immediate action regarding the worsening human rights conditions in PoJK.

In a statement shared on X, the organization called upon international institutions, various governments, and human rights bodies to act swiftly in protecting civilians, ensuring proper accountability, and maintaining international human rights standards. The UKPNP specifically requested responses from the United Nations, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Russia, China, global human rights organizations, and international media outlets regarding the escalating violence.

India has consistently maintained its position that Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir constitutes an integral part of the country. New Delhi has repeatedly expressed concerns about Pakistan’s continued support for cross-border terrorism alongside its treatment of civilians in the disputed territory.
