Siya’s father, Praveen Goyal, who is still recovering from a heart attack, supported his wife’s stance. “Whoever is guilty in this case, even if it is my daughter, should be hanged,” he stated to the outlet. The family’s home, “Leela Kunj” in Market Yard, Pune, has been locked since the incident, reflecting their anxiety and the gravity of the situation. Police have assured the public that they are conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the truth.

Extensive Communication Between the Accused

Authorities have revealed that Siya and Chetan had been in constant communication for nearly six months, exchanging 2,004 calls and spending 238 hours on the phone. “The duo exchanged 2,004 phone calls and spent around 238 hours speaking to each other during the last six months,” said Pune (Rural) Superintendent of Police Sandip Singh Gill. “Some of the calls between them lasted for more than 2 to 3 hours, indicating a close and possibly coordinated relationship.”

According to the police, the pair met at a cafe on the day of the murder and finalized the plan to kill Ketan. “During the meeting, the two allegedly identified a suitable spot on the fort from where Agarwal could be pushed into the valley and worked out the details of the execution of the plan,” Gill added. This level of premeditation has fueled calls for the maximum sentence, with the mother’s demand for ‘hang her’ echoing through the community.

Passport Sabotage and Pre-Wedding Disruption

“Our probe showed that after stealing the passport from the car at the food mall at Khalapur, Siya Goyal dumped it in the women’s washroom,” said senior police inspector Dinesh Tayde to PTI. “While we are probing the murder, a team will also be sent to the mall to see if the passport can be retrieved.”

Siya’s actions had already disrupted the couple’s plans for a pre-wedding photoshoot in Bali. She lost Ketan’s passport on June 6, forcing the family to reschedule. The engagement between Siya and Ketan was announced in February, with their wedding planned for November in Udaipur. The passport incident, combined with the subsequent murder, has painted a picture of a young woman who may have been involved in a calculated scheme to end her fiancé’s life.

Earlier Encounters at Lohagad Fort

During the initial inquiry, Ketan’s sister Sanjana and other family members claimed Siya had repeatedly urged Ketan to visit Lohagad Fort before the fatal incident. “On May 31, Siya had taken Ketan to Lohagad Fort. She again insisted that he go there on June 4,” the official noted. “However, Ketan’s mother prevented him from going a second time.”

Despite these warnings, Siya tried once more to convince Ketan to visit the fort on June 14. During that trip, she allegedly attempted to push him off the cliff, but he managed to cling to a bush and avoid injury. When Ketan asked why she had acted, Siya falsely claimed a snake was involved, framing herself as a protector. This incident has raised further concerns about her role in the planned murder.
