Video Shows Students Beaten by BJP Leader Following CJP Protest, Hours After Government Promises

Theindiapostdaily.com – Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has circulated a video that appears to capture a BJP leader verbally abusing and physically assaulting young demonstrators. The footage, which includes harsh language aimed at the participants, depicts the politician addressing two student protesters near the demonstration site.

The Confrontation Unfolds

According to reports, the video shows the BJP leader threatening the youths for their involvement in the CJP demonstration. He begins by questioning their identity, asking whether they are Hindu or Muslim, and challenging their support for the movement while others chant slogans considered anti-national.

The exchange quickly escalates into intimidation. Seated inside a vehicle, the leader uses profanities and cautions the students against returning. He then proceeds to slap them, demanding they apologize on camera for participating in the protest.

“This is a message to protesters across the country! Let everyone witness the BJP and their allies’ misconduct, vile words and violence. Behold their audacity,” Akhilesh Yadav wrote while sharing the video.

Akhilesh Yadav’s Strong Reaction

The Samajwadi Party leader expressed outrage at what he described as brazen disregard for official assurances. He noted that merely hours had elapsed since the government extended promises to young people, yet BJP members were allegedly repeating past betrayals.

“Only hours have passed since promises were made to the youth. And, these BJP members are repeating their historical betrayals by deceiving once again,” he wrote.

Yadav criticized what he termed “cultured BJP leaders” for openly undermining commitments from their own leadership while documenting the incident on video. He questioned whether internal conflicts within the ruling coalition might be responsible for such behavior, calling for swift legal action.

“These so-called cultured BJP leaders are brazenly tearing apart the assurances given by their top leadership and even filming videos of it. Is this, too, happening because of a clash between the double engines?” asked the Samajwadi Party leader while asking for an “immediate arrest”.

He concluded by asserting that BJP members demonstrated disloyalty even to their own commitments, declaring the party “The Antithesis of Trust!”

Context: CJP Protest Resolution

The incident occurred shortly after the BJP-led government addressed major concerns raised by the CJP movement on July 25. This meeting effectively concluded the nationwide demonstration. Key outcomes included the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, agreement to withdraw first information reports filed against demonstrators, and commitments to provide compensation to families of those who lost their lives.

Public Response on Social Media

Netizens expressed varied opinions regarding the viral footage. One user commented on the leader’s demeanor, suggesting his arrogance would diminish when confronted by someone equally strong.

“Attitude dekho.. Jaise desh kharid rakha hai, koi dhang ka mil gya to sari hekdi bahar aa jayegi (Look at the attitude as if he’s bought the whole country. If he meets someone tough, all his frustration will come spilling out.),” wrote one social media user.

Another commenter questioned why authorities had not yet acted against such individuals, noting that while fear was being spread, not everyone would remain passive.

“Why isn’t immediate action taken against such people, when the video clearly shows the reality, fear is being instilled in people’s hearts, but remember not everyone is a coward—if the law doesn’t punish this, then people will deliver their own happy justice,” wrote another user.

Some users urged Yadav to move beyond tweeting and take concrete legal steps to address the situation.

“Neta ji, is tweeting enough to teach such people a lesson? Step up with action, fulfil your duty—if you feel something wrong has happened, then come forward to take legal action against this man. Only then can the country’s atmosphere be saved from hooliganism!”

However, not everyone accepted the video at face value. One commenter suggested the footage might have been staged by SP supporters, pointing out that the man in the video wore a saffron gamchha while calmly recording, potentially to create confusion and shape public narrative.

“Why would BJP people make a video like this to defame themselves? This man must be from SP, who is calmly making a video while wearing a saffron gamchha so that confusion can be spread and a narrative can be set. The public knows everything.”
