CJP Protest: Delhi Police Case After Stone Pelting Injures Two ACPs

Theindiapostdaily.com – The CJP Protest in Delhi has intensified following a violent incident where stone pelting injured two Assistant Commissioners of Police near Jantar Mantar. The Cockroach Janta Party, led by Abhijeet Dipke, has been conducting demonstrations demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The Delhi Police have since registered multiple cases in connection with the stone-throwing incident that marred the peaceful CJP Protest.

Injuries Sustained by Senior Police Officers

During the CJP Protest, two senior police officials were among those injured when stones were hurled at law enforcement personnel. ACP Vivek Bhagat, who is in charge of the Connaught Place area, and ACP Jai Prakash from Punjabi Bagh both sustained injuries during the confrontation. Inspector Nand Kishore was also among the police officers hurt in the incident.

Medical reports from RML Hospital reveal that ACP Vivek Bhagat suffered multiple bruises on his upper and lower limbs as well as his shoulder. The examination further showed swelling in the parieto-occipital region at the back of his head. ACP Jai Prakash received a wound on his forehead while attempting to prevent demonstrators from moving toward Parliament House.

Multiple FIRs Filed in Connection with CJP Protest

Delhi Police authorities have registered ten separate First Information Reports related to the ongoing CJP Protest across different areas of the national capital. These cases cover various incidents that occurred during the demonstrations, with each FIR addressing specific instances of violence and public disorder. The multiple cases reflect the scale of disturbances that took place during the CJP Protest at Jantar Mantar.

The cases span across different jurisdictions within the New Delhi district, indicating that the CJP Protest witnessed incidents in multiple locations. Police officials have been investigating each case to identify those responsible for the stone pelting and other acts of violence against law enforcement personnel.

CJP Founder Blames BJP for Outside Goons

Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, has firmly denied that CJP members were involved in the stone pelting during the CJP Protest. He attributed the violence to individuals brought in specifically to disrupt the demonstration and create chaos.

“People are being sent from outside to deliberately disrupt the protest. We have been sitting here for a month. No such incident has happened in a month. But now, as this protest has grown, goons are being sent from outside by the BJP to deliberately incite people. These are the people from the BJP who are pelting stones,” Dipke stated during the CJP Protest.

Dipke further alleged that Delhi Police brings trucks loaded with stones to the protest site. According to him, BJP supporters then throw these stones before falsely blaming CJP members for the violence. He claimed that this is a coordinated effort to discredit the CJP Protest.

“The police bring trucks of stones here. BJP goons come, they pelt stones and then defame the people of CJP,” Dipke claimed, adding that this pattern has been observed during the CJP Protest.

This accusation is not new for the CJP. Before the Chalo Sansad march on Monday, supporters shared footage showing a truck full of stones near Jantar Mantar, questioning how it managed to enter the heavily guarded protest area during the CJP Protest.

Rising Tensions Between Police and Protesters

Delhi Police reports that more than one hundred officers have been injured during confrontations with student demonstrators throughout the CJP Protest. The injuries range from minor bruises to more serious wounds caused by stones and other projectiles. Conversely, the CJP has criticized police for using harsh tactics and sending plainclothes officers without identification badges to target the protesters.

Additional scrutiny has fallen on Delhi Police after video footage captured Additional DCP Sandeep Lamba slapping a woman protester. The incident sparked public outrage and raised questions about police conduct during the CJP Protest. In response to the public outcry, Lamba has reportedly been taken off his post at Jantar Mantar.
