Preity Zinta Calls for Government Engagement with Sonam Wangchuk Amidst NEET Protest

Theindiapostdaily.com – Bollywood star Preity Zinta has publicly appealed to authorities to begin constructive conversations with Sonam Wangchuk alongside the student demonstrators gathered at Jantar Mantar. Her intervention aims to safeguard the activist’s wellbeing as his condition continues to decline.

Wangchuk commenced his open-ended hunger strike on June 28, citing concerns regarding irregularities in the NEET examination process. According to Delhi Police reports, officers transported the activist from the protest location to Safdarjung Hospital during the 21st day of his fast.

Expressing her concerns on X, Zinta shared:

I hope our govt starts a meaningful dialogue with Sonam Wangchuk and the student bodies so his health does not deteriorate any further!

The actress also encouraged Wangchuk to conclude his fast, emphasizing that his physical wellbeing holds equal significance to his cause.

Please end your fast Sonam. Your health is as important as this fight.

Continuing her message, Zinta added:

You and the students are fighting for the future of India and for our youth. My heartfelt & unwavering support to every student & to Sonam in this fight to uplift & upgrade our educational system. More power to all of you. Jai Hind

CJP Leader Questions Government’s Approach

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke voiced skepticism regarding the government’s strategy during Tuesday’s events. He suggested that officials were conducting parallel actions—initiating dialogue with his party while simultaneously deploying police forces against demonstrators.

The government wasted our time. They invited our delegation. They seized their mobiles. Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das were, in a way, under house arrest at J P Nadda’s residence,

Dipke told supporters at Jantar Mantar, where the NEET paper leak demonstration had reached its 32nd day.

He further explained:

The whole plan was to scatter the team, so that when there is chaos, no one is there. That is why they kept them sitting for five hours and wasted our time. You call for talks on one hand, and unleash batons on students on the other hand,

he alleged.

The Central government has yet to address these accusations publicly.
