Theindiapostdaily.com – The father of Ketan Agarwal has dismissed allegations that his son’s hair patch was the cause of the murder, asserting that Siya Goyal and her family were aware of it prior to their engagement. This comes as authorities probe the circumstances leading to the 26-year-old Pune businessman’s death, with police suggesting his fiancée and alleged boyfriend may have orchestrated the incident.
Father Rejects Hair Patch As Trigger For Murder
Vishal Agarwal, Ketan’s father, confirmed that his son wore a “small patch of wig” but insisted the information was shared with Siya’s family before the engagement. “It is true Ketan used a small wig, but Siya and her family knew about it. If she had any problems, she should have said no. Why was my son killed?” he stated during an interview.
“What was the need to kill my son?” Vishal Agarwal said.
Police Say Investigation Into Motive Is Still Underway
Authorities have indicated the murder was premeditated, citing multiple prior attempts to harm Ketan. Investigators believe Siya and her boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary, pushed him into a 300-foot gorge at Lohagad Fort after luring him there on June 18. They claim Siya gave a pre-arranged signal to Chetan at the cliff’s edge, prompting the fatal action.
Siya’s Family Maintains She Wanted To Marry Ketan
Siya Goyal’s parents have denied that their daughter opposed the marriage. Her mother explained, “We asked Siya repeatedly, at least ten times, if she wanted to marry Ketan. Each time, she said ‘Yes, I like Ketan.’ She never mentioned any issues with the relationship.” The family also contested the police’s account of the trek, highlighting Siya’s own words.
“Siya told me, ‘Mummy, Ketan is asking me to come for trekking, but I don’t want to go. Please ask him not to insist.’ But Ketan’s mother told her, ‘If Ketan is asking you to come, then go. He may have planned a birthday surprise for you.'”
Fadnavis Assures Fast-Track Trial, Special Prosecutor
As the probe progresses, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met with Ketan’s father in Pune. He promised a fast-track trial and appointed senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam to lead the prosecution. Nikam has previously worked on high-profile cases, including the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
