The attacks occurred in areas roughly 60 km apart along the Pench-Kanha Tiger Corridor. Seoni houses the Pench Tiger Reserve, while the neighboring districts of Balaghat and Mandla are home to the internationally recognized Kanha Tiger Reserve (KTR).

First Attack Details

Officials reported that a tiger targeted a woman in a field, pulling her into a nearby forest before killing her. The site of the attack is approximately 40 km from the district’s headquarters.

Second Attack Details

Shortly after, a second tiger attack took place at about 1 pm in Jamrapani circle, under the Gorakhpur beat of the Kurai forest range. A tiger killed 55-year-old Shanti Bai Kumre, another local resident. Villagers later discovered her remains in a forest clearing near farmland, about 70 km from the district’s center.
